What Is Rhinoplasty?

By Gray Rollins Rhinoplasty, commonly called a nose job, is a type of cosmetic surgery designed to repair or reshape the nose. As one of the most prominent features on your face, your nose has a large bearing on your appearance and can impact how you feel about yourself. Individuals who are displeased with the size or shape of the nose can benefit from rhinoplasty because of the opportunity it offers to completely alter the appearance of the nose. Rhinoplasty has the ability to increase or reduce the size of the nose in its entirety, removing a bump, altering the shape of the bridge or the tip of your nose, narrowing the nostril openings, and modifying the angle between your nose and your lips. Rhinoplasty cannot be successfully performed until the nose has stabilized and nasal bone has stopped growing. This typically occurs around age 14 to 15 in girls and age 15 to 16 in boys. Any surgery performed before this point runs the risk of having to be redone once nasal growth has ceased, since the nose has the potential to continue to change and develop until that point. Rhinoplasty is occasionally performed on younger children in the case of severe trauma to the face, so that the nose can be restored as close as possible to its original shape and size. Most rhinoplasty procedures are performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. There are exceptions to this rule, though. Patients undergoing severe reconstructive surgery may be monitored overnight to ensure that no complications arise. Individuals seeking to have their nose set after a bad break will occasionally receive local anesthetic only. During the procedure the cosmetic surgeon makes an incision either inside the nostrils or through the columella, the external strip of tissue that separates the nostrils. The skin is then separated away from the framework of the nose itself so the doctor can access the underlying cartilage. In order to reshape the nose, the soft flexible cartilage and bone are manipulated into the proper position and shape. Depending on the desired results, tissue may be removed or added to change the angle or contour of the nose. A chisel or file may be used during the procedure, most frequently to remove a hump from the bridge of the nose. Once the nose has been sculpted into the desired shape, the skin is resituated and the nose is splinted to protect it. Nasal pads may be used for the first few days following the surgery to pack the nose and protect the delicate septum. Rhinoplasty, as with all other surgeries, is not risk-free. In addition to the standard bruising and swelling, patients should be aware of a number of potential side-effects that could result from the procedure. These include an infection of the nose, nosebleeds, numbness, scarring, and a reaction to the anesthesia. Some patients report the bursting of small blood vessels on the surface of the skin and hematomas, or collections of blood that pool under the skin. The possibility also exists that a follow-up procedure will be necessary in order to remedy an over-correction or under-correction of the nose. When successfully performed by a highly-qualified surgeon, rhinoplasty can dramatically improve the appearance of your nose and improve your self-confidence. If you are considering rhinoplasty and would like more information about this procedure, contact a reputable cosmetic surgeon in your area and arrange for a personal consultation. BlackBerry handsets support wireless information services including phone, email, text messaging, Internet, and various PDA applications such as address book, to-do lists, and calendar. RIM has about 6.2 million subscribers to the BlackBerry service. Later this year, watch out for its younger sibling, the BlackBerry 8820, to be launched. Have Fun with Your Kids

By Kadence Buchanan It is time to stop hearing that phrase “I am bored” again. Although some days it looks like you have no energy left to devote to your kids , it is important for you to remember that these are the times that they will later cherish in their memory and you will be glad you had a chance to experience a variety of things with them. Having fun is not that difficult. Just get off the couch and open the door to excitement. Spending some quality time with your children does not only help them build a better relationship with you, it does also offer to you the opportunity to examine how your kids feel to be able to smile to something else than that TV set they are usually watching. One interesting idea is for you to invest in buying a trampoline. If you have a garden or a park nearby, trampolines are always fun to play with regardless of the kids’ age. Burning calories and having fun can be combined through this exciting outdoor activity and if you have a video-camera prepare to film your kids’ movements up on the air. Another interesting idea to have fun and spend time with your beloved ones is to go fishing, or experience the sea by experimenting with a variety of water-sports. Since you know that children always enjoy splashing around in the bathtub why not see them do whatever they want in the pool of your local water resort? If you budget can handle the expense, there is always the solution of investing in an above-ground pool that is big enough to fit both you and your kids. Balls, rubber toys, boats, can be added to the scene and your kids will look you with excitement every time you mention that it is bath-time again! If summer is approaching and you have no time available to take the kids off to that destination you believe they would enjoy while schools are on a break, consider the solution of a summer camp. Experienced professionals offer a variety of activities and your kids will feel that this adventure belongs only to them. Even if you are not willing to let your children summer camp overnight, you can always select a day camp and pick them up by sunset. Of course, you can go fly a kite, play soccer, baseball, football or any sport they like with them. Kids love to run around, why not let them test their talents and have fun at the same time? Physical activity is strongly advised by experts and children should be outdoors as often as possible and experience life as they should. When the rainy days come, you can have your kids help you out in the kitchen. Teach them to make their favorite chocolate cake, bake cookies or cook that dinner you are planning for grandpa and grandma. Imagine their faces when they will announce to their grandparents that this meal is the outcome of their efforts. Although you are now thinking of the mess you will have later to clean, it is certainly more enjoyable to prepare a meal with them than to have them play a video-game all day. Also, you can organize a dress up contest and have the winner do something next week that he or she wants. Old pillow cases, overused towels or unused blankets can become the dress-code of your kids’ dinner party and you will be glad you decided to stay in and enjoy that “beautiful day in the indoor park” with them. Imagine, create, and experience the life you will later remember with nostalgia. Kids eventually grow up and it will be difficult for you to chase them over the bed or let them jump up and down the couch! Act now and be sure that your children will cherish the time that you spend with them for a lifetime. Blogging for Candidates 101: Nuts and Bolts

By Lucia Apollo Shaw A blog is simply an internet (web) log. Blogs are created for personal or professional use. They may promote a product or service, or merely serve as a personal online journal. There are currently just over four million blogs today, with a new blog born every seven seconds. The problem of cocooning candidates Today, we work and live in an era of heightened cynicism and secrecy. Isnt it much harder than it used to be to call into a company and attempt to speak with a candidate by telephone? Central voice mail systems have grown more sophisticated and guarded. And even when recruiters are able to finally speak with an actual live person, its often a reluctant administrative assistant or receptionist. Finally, if you are fortunate enough to be transferred to your candidate, more often than not you are greeted with that persons individual voice mail recording. It has become de facto practice by many professionals today to simply leave their do not disturb function turned on for most of the work day. Later, they will screen and return external calls at their discretion. To address these changes, in recent years legitimate e-mail and web site marketing was considered a non-threatening (and somewhat successful) way to reach these cocooning candidates. These are in fact still viable tools, but there costly learning curves associated with them. Some recruiters have gone back to launching traditional direct mail campaigns. However, this can be an expensive and time consuming proposition to undertake with regularity. Success may be mixed until you find just the right combination of style and timing. Moreover, most outreach marketing attempts essentially are competing for a candidates attention today. Consider this: Only 29% of eligible job seekers visit the “Big Three” (Monster.com, Hotjobs.com, CareerBuilder.com) The average consumer is exposed to about 3,000 marketing messages per day.) 85% of people conducting research are using the internet.) What can blogging do for you? Recruiters (or researchers) who seek candidates for open positions, or to profile candidate requirements for the purpose of building a network pipeline, there are two ways we can use blogs: (1) The first way is to start your own blog and attract top talent to your blog site. This is not an overnight marketing cure-all, and it will require some patience. But cultivating a readership of professionals in your niche field is a highly effective means of reaching candidates who would have never otherwise learned about your career openings. The key to making this work is to learn to attract a specialized readership to your blog, just like a beacon in the night. You dont need millions of readersJust hundreds of the right readers. (2) The second approach is to search other existing blogs and develop contacts and relationships. This is a perfectly legitimate means of networking, as any internet page is essentially public domain information. Based on posting activity and interactions you initiate, you can easily develop in-roads and find more candidates in less time. Lets talk about both approaches. You want to start your own blog. Now what? How much time do I need to spend on my blog? What do I write about? By their very nature of being near real-time, dynamic logs about life, blogs are frequently published mediums. I publish my blog at least three times per week (sometimes more often if I have more to say). If you are going to take the time to create an effective blog, and develop a regular reading audience, I suggest blogging at least twice every week. How do I decide what to blog about? Who is your audience? What message are you trying to convey? Are you recruiting for new business clients? Looking for joint venture relationships? In need of candidates who are in short supply in your market place? Are you selling products or services, or promoting your company brand? The first step you should take is to decide on what your intended focus will be. If you write about whats wrong with our political system one week, then the following week write about outsourcing IT services to India, then in week three prattle on about how beautiful your home town is in the fall, your readership will not feel a sense of community or predictability about you. This completely defeats the purpose of building trust and credibility! You would be better off making cold calls if you continue on this path. One of my blogs (The Hiring Insider, www.hiringinsider.com) shares tips and tools to help line managers, corporate recruiters, human resource professionals, etc. learn to make better hires faster (or so I hope). Week in and week out, I try to maintain a specific, consistent thread of helpful information that builds upon previous weeks blog entries. However, a new reader should be able to jump in without any trouble at any time, so remember this as you plan your writing agenda. My other blog (http://jobsblog.blogspot.com) provides tips to job seekers in the life sciences field who are confused about who to trust in the pharmaceutical job market, and what practices to engage in and avoid in order to land the best possible job for their skill set. As you craft your blog entries, constantly think about who, what, why, where and how. Be sure to ask yourself where you are headed over time with your blog topics. Try to stay theme-related. How do I choose a service to blog on? There are many services available. For beginners, I recommend using blogger.com (Pyra labs). Google acquired blogger.com in February of 2004 (http://weblog.siliconvalley.com/column/dangillmor/archives/000802.shtml) and is really enhancing its features. Its also FREE. Yep, you can register for an account in less than ten minutes and be up and blogging. Other great tools include Typepad (http://www.typepad.com/) and Movable Type (http://www.movabletype.org/). Again, the most important ingredients are publishing good content, and establishing and maintaining a base audience. However, you arent done yet. Now that youve come this far, you need to promote your blog and get yourself out of the starting gate. Begin by submitting your blog to the blog search engines. There are several hundred of these, and they are growing by the day. It is somewhat arbitrary which ones you choose to register with. However, at a minimum, I recommend that you register your site with at least the following: www.technorati.com www.daypop.com www.blogarama.com www.blogtree.com www.bloglines.com What if I dont want my own blog? If you decide instead that you want to search other blogs to source candidates, you can do any or all of these three steps: First, search for blogs based on what skill sets you are seeking (Oracle blogs, copywriting blogs, programmer blogs). Secondly, read the blog entries and see who is posting comments. Third, most bloggers have blog-rolls on either the left or ride side of the page. These cite other blogs that they like, and are usually related to the subject matter on their own blog. Resourceful recruiters will take advantage of these links and research them as well. You will also find blogs they may like or recommend which are unrelated. While I generally post relevant blogs, I also try to have a little fun. After all, recruiting is challenging workWhy not take a break and see what Dave Barry is up to? http://weblog.herald.com/column/davebarry/ Lucia Apollo Shaw, HireWorks, Inc. 2004 HireWorks, Inc. helps small to midsize organizations in the life sciences recruit and retain top talent. http://www.hire-works.com Visit our blog at http://www.hiringinsider.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Lucia_Apollo_Shaw http://EzineArticles.com/?Blogging-for-Candidates-101:–Nuts-and-Bolts&id=12425 pay day money lenders personal car loan with bad credit score texas payday laws quick cash advances with no fax

Milestone Birthday Ideas, a Roast

By Mike Hamilton Milestone Birthdays can be a lot of fun. One idea for celebrating a milestone is a roast. One of my favorite themes for a birthday roast is a memorial. The first thing you will want to do is send out the birthday invitations formatted like an obituary. A cheesy black and white picture of a younger version of the decedent adds a touch of legitimacy to the document. If you or any of your cronies have a flair for creative writing this can be a very warm and funny tribute, as well as a keepsake for all attendees. The location for the roast or memorial should be as somber as possible and decorated as such. Be sure to greet the guests in your with your most solemn and understated demeanor. Just before the festivities begin have your pall bearers bring in the cake, unlit. Make it as realistic as possible and give the pall bearers the honor of having a place of honor once the cake is brought in and placed in the appropriately. The roasters are your eulogists and your obituary will set the tone for what tack they take. If you want to make the guest of honor wildly successful than you will want to set that down in the obituary, If you want him to be a depraved soul who it will be difficult to find something nice to say, then that is something you want to include. Liberties and poetic license should be the order of the day. The way the honoree met his untimely demise should fit with his interests or something somewhat unique to them. Most of us remember the Mary Tyler Moore episode where Chuckles the clown was killed by a rogue elephant while dressed as a peanut. What more could you ask for in humor or irony? Another idea is using cap guns for a 21 gun salute. This could be used if the honoree met his end in some form of “heroics”. Friends and family could be bogus people from his fictional biography. Additionally be sure to hand out black armbands at the door if folks did not have enough foresight to bring their own. Black crepe paper is a good cheap way to supply these. Black party hats with veils made of black pantyhose or some other translucent material can also be made. A milestone birthday roast disguised as a memorial can be and should be a lot of fun. You will have fun planning it and producing it, and if done well it will be a birthday party that folks will talk about for years to come. How to Care for Your Silver

By Martin Swinton Silver is beautiful but it can tarnish quickly. This sometimes puts people off collecting it. Dont let it deter you. Here are some tips to help you enjoy your silver. Use it. Regular use is best. Silver was made to be used. Wash in hot mild soapy water. To avoid spotting, wash quickly in hot mild soapy water, rinse in hot clean water and dry quickly. Avoid contact with scotch tape, cardboard and newspaper. Acids in the tape, cardboard and newspaper can be harmful to silver. Use acid-free paper. Wrap silver in acid free paper when storing. Avoid contact with eggs, onions and peas. The sulfur in these foods combines with silver to form silver sulphide, which discolors the surface. Avoid contact with wool and felt. These fabrics contain harmful sulfur. Avoid contact with rubber. Dont fasten cutlery with rubber bands or store rubber bands in silver cups etc because rubber contains ingredients that can tarnish silver. This includes latex gloves. Dont wear them when cleaning your silver. Avoid dishwashers. The combination of harsh detergents and very high temperatures is far too much for sterling to bear. Avoid salt. Remove salt from silver saltshakers and salt sellers after each use. Salt is a corrosive element. Storing these items with salt in them will damage them along with the rest of the silver in the cupboard because salt will permeate the air. Clean silver candlesticks carefully. Avoid using a knife or other sharp object to remove the nub of a candle. Instead, pour in a little hot water. Let it sit and then the remainder of the candle will slip out. Dont store silver in freshly painted drawers. Some paints can accelerate tarnishing. You should wait 4 months. Cleaning your silver Here are a couple of methods to clean your silver. Commercial cleaners. A wide assortment of commercial cleaners is available at grocery and hardware stores. The less abrasive the cleaner, the better. Aluminum foil method This fast working homemade remedy works like a charm. Add to pot of boiling water a piece of aluminum foil, salt or a water softener such as Calgon. The chemical reaction among these elements quickly lifts tarnish. Works well for cutlery, trays etc. Toothpaste An old standby that works in a pinch. Apply with a soft toothbrush. Remove with soft clean cloth. Storing your silver A humid environment encourages tarnishing. Caustic elements such as sulfur and salt cause tarnishing and pitting. Using one and/or more of these techniques will help to create a barrier between your precious silver and that pesky tarnish. Anti-tarnish strips Can be added to drawers where silver is stored. These strips, containing activated charcoal absorb tarnish producing gases. Kenzied cloth Line your drawers with this 100 per cent cotton per cent cotton flannel cloth. When used in combination with anti-tarnish strips, they provide a good barrier. Polyethylene bags Store silver pieces in polyethylene bags that create a barrier from tarnish producing gases. Desiccated silica gel & activated charcoal Add to storage area a small container of desiccated silica gel that absorbs water to keep humidity levels low and a small container of activated charcoal. This one-two combination packs a punch and absorbs harmful gases. Works well when added to polyethylene bag. 1998 and 1999 Economics and Illegal Immigration

By Lance Winslow Currently in United States of America we are worried about high oil prices, Middle Eastern politics, our national debt and illegal immigration; so what else is new? You know I always find interesting is that the United States of America’s government keeps doing the same things and keeps getting the same results. Each time the FED, the United States Congress or even the president of the United States changes one or more lever in an attempt to change a situation in the economy; what happens? The same thing that has always happened; Now then, let’s do a flash back to the past and let’s take it back about seven years shall we? Below is an excerpt from a speech I gave to an economics class at a community college in 1999. Now mind you this is only one minute of the thirty-minute speech, however it is indeed very telling; Now let us throw in some hefty fuel prices when there is a shortage of drivers and trucking is up 22% traffic is slowing down America. And we cannot even control that. Our National Debt will be paid off soon and our credit rating and dollar even stronger, and prices keep going up yet salaries remain neutral or if you count in the added time cards actually go down. Immigration is bringing in more lower paying jobs, thus a possibility of further separation of classes for no apparent reason except profession or the pendulum swing due to government or changes in sector rotation of the market. If we continue to allow this migration and do not control it unchecked we will see a driving down in wages of our more skilled labor force in trade and much needed resources will be diverted from the education of Americans who have been paying in and need to feed families. May I ask what happens when this robust economy slows down? My point being that; How soon we forget? Are things really much different than they were in 1998 were 1999? Sure we have a new president or a different president and a different political party running things, however things are very similar. Yes we have a much larger debt, but we were also attacked during 911 and we have had two wars. But all in all things are very similar and it is rather surprising that we choose to divide ourselves over silly little political issues at a time that we should be working together in a common cause rather than being doomed to repeat the past. We must stand together and stand tall against international terrorism. Surely that would be a great accomplishments in the present period along with all this sound and fury signifying not much at all. Consider this in 2006. “Lance Winslow” - Online Think Tank forum board. Hidden Secrets To Shred 17 Pounds Of Belly Fat In Four Weeks By Changing What You Drink

By John Christian Sebastian It blows my mind with how many people in todays society are abandoning their diets after one, two, or even three weeks into it. How nice would it be to discover the hidden secret that all Hollywood celebrities use when they need to drop five, ten, and even fifteen pounds in fourteen days? Thats right, this really does happen, and on a daily basis just by sipping off your weight with liquids you might have never known existed for dropping your weight. Let me ask you a question, did you know that the average human downs two hundred gallons of liquid each year? To put that into reality, that is around twenty four gallons of milk, fifty three gallons of Pepsi, about thirty four gallons of bear, and a whole heck of a lot of gallons from other stuff. If that didnt hit home for you, let me ask a simple question. Are you feeling bloated all the time? If your answer was no then I can honestly say youre lying. You should be felling bloated! Now youre probably asking yourself how all of this can help you drink away 17 pounds. I agree, so lets get down to business. Next time you go to your local supermarket to get some juice, get it with pulp instead of pulp-free. Instead of getting sweet tea, replace it with green tea. Green tea is a kick butt liquid that literally shaves off the pounds if you can focus on consuming a few glasses a day. The point is, if you actually read the calorie count on the types of juices and other liquids that you are throwing into your grocery cart you can take down 40,000 fewer calories in four weeks. Let me to the math for youthat is saving you an average of seventeen pounds every four weeks. Sound exciting? It should be! When I discovered how important and powerful this type of healthy lifestyle is worth doing something about, I have not only saved myself several pounds a week, but Ive also went from a size 38 waist down to a 34 waist in three weeks. Now you know how Hollywood celebrities cut their weight by the inches literally on demand. The History of the Tomato

By Barbara Johnston Tomato history has had its origins traced back to the Aztecs around 700AD, therefore it is believed it is native to the Americas. The word tomato comes from a word in the Nahuatl language, tomatl. The specific name, lycopersicum means “wolf-peach” (compare the related species, S. lycocarpum, whose scientific name means “wolf-fruit”, common name “wolf-apple.”) During the 16th Century Europeans were introduced to this fruit as explorers traveled and discovered new lands. The tomato was quickly accepted throughout Southern European kitchens, yet as it moved further northwards in Europe it found more resistance. Tomato history in Britain The tomato plant was not grown in England until the 1590s. One of the earliest cultivators was John Gerard, a barber-surgeon. Gerard’s Herbal, published in 1597, it is also one of the earliest discussions of the tomato in England. Gerard knew that the tomato was eaten in both Spain and Italy. Nonetheless, he believed that it was poisonous (tomato leaves and stems contain poisonous glycoalkaloids, but the fruit is safe). Gerard’s views were influential, and the tomato was considered unfit for eating (though not necessarily poisonous) for many years in Britain and its North American colonies. By the mid 1700s, however, tomatoes were being widely eaten in Britain, and before the end of that century the Encyclopdia Britannica stated that the tomato was “in daily use” in soups, broths, and as a garnish. Tomatoes were originally known as ‘Love Apples’, possibly based on a mistranslation of the Italian name pomo d’oro (golden apple) as pomo d’amore. http://www.all-about-tomatoes.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Barbara_Johnston http://EzineArticles.com/?The-History-of-the-Tomato&id=372326 poor credit loan payday loan utah payday-loans-chicago fast no fax cash loans
